  • Black Belt

Gabby Valdez is a 2nd-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under UFC veteran Marion Reneau, with a journey that began in late 2009. After years of consistent training, dedication, and competition at every belt level, he earned his black belt in 2018 and has continued to refine his craft both on and off the mat.

He currently serves as an assistant instructor for Arrest and Control at Porterville College and the College of the Sequoias Police Academy. In addition, he assists with Gracie Survival Tactics (GST), training law enforcement and military personnel in defensive techniques.

He is also a dedicated girls high school wrestling coach. In his first year, he led three athletes to Masters and one to State competition.

Outside the school season, he continues to coach his daughter at wrestling and jiu-jitsu tournaments, helping her become one of the area’s top competitors in both sports.
